I ate pretty crappy yesterday, had some stuff I shouldn’t have had ((mostly the 3 steamed buns when I got to work…))
Yesterday’s food:
Shared a veggie frittata with Patrick for breakfast, so uhhh 2 eggs, spinach, red and orange bell peppers, and salsa. I also had a bosc pear.
Lunch was bad. I had what is most likely TWO servings of pasta salad ((it’s a big batch I made for Patrick to take to work that’s been in the fridge. Devil of temptation.)) and then a leftover veggie steam bun that I had brought home from work the night before. So lunch was basically processed refined carbs, mayo, spicy Japanese mayo, and veggies, half of which where tempura battered and fried on the steam bun. :( :( :(
Then my before work meal/early dinner was a big salad with spinach, radish shreds, beet shreds, carrot shreds, button mushrooms, green onions, a tablespoon of crumbled feta, and raspberry vinaigrette. So that wasn’t bad. I ate that right before I started down in the locker room.
AND THEN BEFORE MY FEELING OF FULLNESS KICKED IN:
I walked upstairs and there it was: A platter full of steamed buns topped with house-picked veggies and Japanese mayo for the servers to eat. I ate 3. UGH.
During my shift I had two cups of coffee and after my shift I had an order of tomago sashimi ((a small portion of cold cut omelet, maybe 1 egg’s worth.)), a few spears of grilled asparagus, 3 small squares of grilled zucchini, and some grilled assorted Japanese mushrooms, and about 1/3 of a cup of steamed rice topped with spicy green curry sauce.
So really the bad part of yesterday was lunch and then my pre-shift steam bun binge. Those damn things are super addictive and super not good. Everything else I ate wasn’t bad, in fact if I had switched my lunch for a salad or sauteed veggies and another piece of fruit, and not eaten those steamed buns as soon as I got to work, all of yesterday’s food would have been pretty much perfect. Oh well. At least I rode my bike 16 miles yesterday.
